The Denver Art Museum is located a few meters from the State Capitol. With a quick walk from the Capitol building, you will get to the Art Museum. While at the Denver Art Museum, take your time because the building itself is a work of art on its own. The Denver’s North Art Museum building was designed by an Italian modernity architect Gio Ponti. The building somehow resembles a castle.
After some years, the Hamilton building was designed by an architect named Daniel Libeskind, who said that his inspiration for the design was brought by the light and geology of the Rockies. Both of the designs make the museum a world-class art that one should not pass by without experiencing the beauty.
The moment you have completed admiring the architecture, it is time to head inside and explore the museum’s many collections. In fact, visiting the museum is the perfect place to learn more about the state of Colorado. Aside from being home to a vast collection, it is also home to nature and science. What does this mean? Well, it simply means that you will get to see many exhibitions of gems, dinosaurs, mummies, and black holes. All this makes the art museum a perfect place to learn.
The museum features an IMAX theatre and the best planetarium in the country. This will give you an opportunity to see an abundance of native American art among other 70,000 different works of art. The exhibitions constantly change and for this reason, it is very important to go through their calendar to see what is going on. Visiting the Denver Art Museum is a must-visit place for those who love art, history, and science.
The Denver Art Museum is open from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. On Fridays, the museum is open until 8 pm. Entrance tickets will cost you $13 for an adult and free for kids under the age of 18.
